About our Exhibitions
The West Carleton Art Society (WCAS) has been provided space at a number of public space venues. Approximately, every three months (depending on the venue) members of the WCAS are provided the opportunity to display their art in an excellent gallery-like space. Many of our shows have established themes for each session.
Links to online application forms for each session will be sent to all members through our Bulletins announcing submission details and dates. Our smaller venues may take submissions by email to the volunteer organizer.
The topics are chosen to cover a broad theme so that most artists are able to produce or submit from their inventory, a piece in their technique or style that would fall within the theme. As in all multi artist exhibits, particularly when there are more pieces than there is space, the pieces are chosen on their cohesiveness as a group, and are not a comment on the artistic merit of each individual piece. By having a panel make the selection, the choices are not slanted to an individual's personal taste or style. Of course, finished edges, ready to hang (please read), dusted/undamaged frames, etc apply.
Obviously being in a public environment artwork must be a subject matter that families will be comfortable with, i.e. no nudity, foul language or pornography.
