Susan Clement-Beveridge: Have you ever said to yourself--I would love to paint that picture I took of my pet or paint a landscape of a place you recently visited, well you can through an introduction course to basic painting with acrylic and learning some mixed media techniques too, at my residence-studio located in Ottawa Centre. All supplies are included. I truly enjoy the satisfaction of teaching others the art of acrylic painting. Painting is a great way to connect with your inner creativity while having fun and discovering how artistically talented you really are!

Brenda Beattie: I am a realistic landscape painter. As of January 2023, I have gone back to teaching in-person classes. I am teaching beginners watercolor classes as well as acrylics. Rosy Somerville Watercolour Plus: Watercolour Plus introduces and develops traditional and experimental watercolour skills. We explore basic transparent watercolour techniques of washes, glazes, wet-in-wet and dry-brush through landscape, floral, portrait, architecture and abstract. The second half of the course introduces resist and special-effect techniques, for example gouache, pen and wash, watercolour canvas, watercolour pencil. Each class starts with a demonstration and aims to develop individual styles. Personal preferences and requirements are welcomed. One on one attention in a relaxed atmosphere.

Keith Thirgood is a post-impressionist artist using both acrylic and oil. He runs two art retreats in the summer plus a number of one-day plein air workshops in the spring.
In the August Retreat, Keith takes a small group of artists by canoe into the Kawartha Highlands where they camp and paint for 5 days. It’s described as a real Tom Thomson experience.
His other retreat is in the Killarney/La Cloche Mountain area of Ontario. No roads here, artists travel by a sturdy pontoon boat to most locations where they paint spectacular rock, trees and water views. This area was frequently painted by the Group of Seven. Keith teaches simplification and exaggeration to help create a beautiful order out of chaos.
In his retreats and workshops he also teaches Modern Colour Theory. His 8-colour palette is all a painter needs to simplify colour mixing.
