Violet Storto
My formal art training began at the old High School of Commerce in the special ‘commercial art course’ and continued to studies in photography, graphic arts and fine art. I find that mixed media meets all my artistic needs, allowing me to play and experiment. The most important adventure to me is discovering how colours interact with each other and how they respond to layering. Texture is also necessary and provides a different dimension to my work. I appreciate the courage it takes to cover it all up and turn it into something new as the painting tells me what it wants to be.
