Lori Ridgeway

Lori is a landscape oil painter. She is inspired by forests, grasses, marshes and shorelines in and around Ottawa. She uses mainly the near-landscape as a vehicle to highlight pattern of positive and negative space, lines, shape and especially colour and light. Her interest is the complexity that lies below the superficial — that which often escapes everyday notice. Her paintings aim at a balance between abstraction but believability that create a unique sense of ‘place’. Her paintings have been accepted into juried shows locally regional, nationally and internationalist. She is represented the Electric Street Gallery, Ottawa.
