The Juke Joint Soul Kitchen, located at 3470 Carp Road, Carp, ON, is a small, VERY popular restaurant, with a rapidly growing reputation. The restaurant reflects a love for the southern lifestyle, food, and music; it’s a place for people to gather, have a few drinks, enjoy great Cajun comfort food, and chat with family and friends...and maybe make a few new acquaintances along the way.
The name "Soul Kitchen" describes the feeling that they want you to feel upon each visit.
The Juke Joint Soul Kitchen hosts rotating shows of artwork that adds to that feeling. West Carleton Arts Society has appreciated the opportunity to exclusively hang our art here for the past three years, and we look forward to future opportunities as the Juke branches out to invite other artists throughout the city to participate.
Calls for submissions will be specific to artwork that reflects the southern lifestyle, has a musical theme, is reflective of vibrant street scenes, (vibrant colors to black & white). Submissions of any medium acceptable for hanging will be considered and must suit the atmosphere being created within the restaurant. (Unfortunately, artwork such as flowers, trees, animals, birds and such would not.)
The Juke Joint Soul Kitchen invites you to drop in and see the art, order their delicious ‘soul food’, and experience the atmosphere when you are in the area.
