Pyrography

I am drawn to a wooden canvas and imagine how to use the grain and any imperfections in the wood to my advantage.
No fusion of colours, no interpretations into abstracts, just sepia tones and as much detail as I can muster.

The maple hardwood I use requires high heat. I call it sketching with fire.

Creating fine pyrography, for me, is like escaping into a good book and not wanting it to end. You know the feeling.
