I grew up in the small town of Smith's Falls where I loved to sit and paint in my backyard or at the kitchen table.
I currently focus on the human face, perfecting my shading and bringing the painting to life with splashes of vibrant colours and dancing lines.
I paint a rough splash of colour first, and then switch to pen ink for detail, ending in texture and gloss building layers like the five senses do.
What I intend to leave the viewer is something different every time they look at it. If it's a figure I want them to be able to relate to it: is it a friend, a mother, brother or a sister.
With my cityscapes I want the viewer to relate to the scene. Maybe they've been there, sat in that chair, or walked down that street.
All of my work I enjoy using bright and vibrant colours adding joy and life into each piece.
