I've always been inspired by those fleeting moments of beauty that catch us by surprise; those moments that display themselves so clearly, so fully, but then slowly fade away. I ask myself, what if we could keep these moments with us for just a bit longer?
Through a distinct style of sharp detail, bold colour and contrast in a graphic style, I attempt to capture, contain and hold moments within dark outlines.
I create well-defined shapes within a variety of depths and a prominent foreground. I play around with dramatic light and shadow, and try to capture moments as if it were taken with a high-contrast camera.
Through this technique in acrylic paint, I hope others can - if only for a moment - revel in the peace, beauty and stillness of the everyday.
