Brigitte Boulay
Palette knife, impasto, abstract realism
I started my journey to the world of palette knife painting taking private lessons with Jack Neilson of Almonte, ON for one year, then continued my learning at the Ottawa School of Art and I am a self taught stationery designer. I am influenced by nature with its bursting colors of summer flowers, antiques, century homes and my worldly travels. Each piece becomes a unique and timeless treasure. Influenced and inspired by my Great-Grandfather, a master violinist and conductor for the New York Symphony Orchestra whose recordings can be found at the National Archives of Canada, my Grandfather, a big band lead saxophone player and my Father who played clarinet in bag bands and was an artist. My Mother was an incredible self taught artist who had a huge impact on me and she nurtured my artistic talents.
