ART FOR ALL show and sale
MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED AND PURCHASED SOME GREAT PIECES OF ART!
West Carleton Arts Society is pleased to announce a NEW physical show for members this autumn!
It’s show time! We have 44 WCAS artists coming together in our first physical exhibition since March 2020. There are 219 pieces of art for sale!
A portion of the sales proceeds will be donated to Art for Aid, a non-profit community organization that provides art education and materials to First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.
Art For All takes place November 20 – 28, 2021 at the Myers Group Showroom, 1200 Baseline Rd. in Ottawa.
“This bright, spacious showroom provided by Myers Cadillac is perfect for an exhibition of this size and scale,” said Marlene Othmer, WCAS Vice-President and show lead. “We have art in a variety of sizes and shapes – watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastel, as well as
mixed media, photography, wood and glass art. There is truly art for all. We are excited as well to collaborate with Art for Aid in their efforts to bring art to First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.”
“Myers Cadillac is pleased to be working with WCAS to put on this exhibition,” said Marc LeBeau, General Manager for Myers Cadillac. “Myers has a strong connection to the community and art does bring people together. The charitable donation makes that
connection even stronger.”
Art for Aid will receive 10 percent of the proceeds of all sales. “It’s a wonderful experience to work with other artists to share the benefits of art across communities,” Colleen Gray, founder of Art for Aid added. “Art For Aid Project works to support
Canadian First Nations, Inuit and Metis art education programs through access to quality art supplies, skills labs, awareness and fundraising efforts. We work to connect Indigenous youth to art and knowledge of their culture.”
Show hours are Monday-Thursday 10-7, Friday-Sunday 10-5. Covid protocols are in effect.
Be sure to drop in and reconnect with your art friends, enjoy the art, and pick up a gift for yourself or a loved one!
