I have always been a bird lover and I began painting them a few years ago. Then I discovered pictures of Ruff birds from Norway, whose male mating plumage is reminiscent of fashionable women with fur collars and fancy hats. I began painting these birds with human arms holding a purse or umbrella and transformed them into well dressed and accessorized females.
My love nature is evident in my up-close and detailed flower portraits, which celebrate the colours and patterns found in nature.
I am a member of the Rideau Lakes Artists Association, West Carleton Arts Society, Carleton Place Art Hub, and the Kanata Civic Art Gallery. I work in acrylics.
